PHONAK HEARING AIDS
Founded in 1947 in Switzerland, Phonak’s mission is to reconnect people to their loved ones and their passions in life with state of the art hearing technology. Phonak has three main goals in the production of their hearing instruments: collaborating with hearing professionals on their insight and knowledge; pursuing innovative solutions to hearing loss; and connecting with the people they serve.
Phonak continues to grow and innovate, and has made the promise to not rest until “wearing a hearing aid is as simple and routine as eyeglasses or contact lenses.” Phonak’s designs are based on feedback from hearing aid wearers and hearing professionals across the world. With a long history of innovation, Phonak was one of the first companies to utilize Bluetooth technology to connect to mobile phones.
Audeo B-R and the Belong Platform
Belong is Phonak’s most advanced processing platform to date. It has been designed to simplify consumers’ lives, offering a rechargeable solution with a breakthrough lithium-ion battery technology. Building upon the sophisticated features of previous Phonak models, Belong provides wearers with excellent listening through AutoSense OS and SoundRecover 2. These automatic features provide 20% better speech understanding. The new design is ergonomic and easy to use – with the push of a single button and an indicator light for battery charge.
Audeo B-R is powered by the Belong Platform, and was designed based on consumer desire for improved communication and intelligibility, a more natural sound experience, accessible connectivity, discreet and comfortable design, tinnitus therapy, and a rechargeable option.
Audeo B-R’s rechargeable battery provides 24 hours of hearing on a single three-hour charge. If you’re in a hurry, a half-hour charge provides six hours of uninterrupted listening. Unlike other rechargeable battery options, Audeo B-R’s lithium-ion battery means that you do not have to replace your battery for four years – saving you money and saving the environment of battery waste.
As a wireless hearing aid, Audeo B-R connects to smartphones and personal electronic devices, allowing you to stream phone calls, music, and other media directly to your ears. In effect, Audeo B-R becomes stereo headphones. In terms of listening features, Audeo B-R’s AutoSense OS makes automatic adjustments based on your environment, which empowers you to move through different spaces with confidence. AutoSense OS provides excellent access to speech sounds as well, with 60% improved speech understanding, with the option to focus on voices you want to hear. Overall, Audeo B-R has been designed to provide you with a seamless and natural listening experience.
Audeo B-R is available in five flexible models, designed to treat mild to severe hearing loss. The receiver-in-canal style comes with a customizable mold made to fit your ear canals. Phonak offers several options for recharging with the B-R: the Charger Case (charger, drying kit, and protective hard case), the Power Pack (for short trips), and the Mini-Charger (perfect for travel).
Lyric: An Invisible 24/7 Solution
Lyric is one of Phonak’s most extraordinary hearing devices. Introduced in 2011, Lyric is the world’s first 100% invisible hearing aid, designed to be worn every day and every night, 24/7, in any environment. Dubbed the “contact lens for the ear,” Lyric is inserted deep in the ear canal near the eardrum by a hearing professional, where it remains for up to four months.
Unlike other hearing aids, Lyric does not require removal or recharging nightly, nor does the battery require replacement. Every four months, you’ll come visit us at Aspire Hearing to have Lyric replaced with a newly-charged model.
People with active lifestyles are excellent candidates for Lyric. Lyric is water resistant, which means it may be worn in the shower or while exercising (though it should not be submerged in a swimming pool – it is not waterproof). Lyric is designed to treat mild to moderately severe hearing loss, using the natural anatomy of your ear and auditory system.
Classic Phonak Hearing Aid Models
Phonak hearing aids are designed to treat varying degrees of hearing loss, from mild to profound, and are fully customizable to meet the diverse needs of wearers. Phonak offers a range of hearing aids in a number of styles: Audeo V, Bolero V, and Virto V, as well as the Naida and CROS.
Audeo, Bolero and Virto are available in four distinct technology levels: Essential (V30), Standard (V50), Advanced (V70), and Premium (V90). Audeo V is a receiver-in-canal hearing aid, Bolero V behind-the-ear, and Virto a customizable in-the-ear/in-the-canal/completely-in-canal/invisible-in-canal hearing aid.
CROSII is Phonak’s solution for single-sided hearing loss. CROS II looks like a pair of hearing aids, but they differ in function. For the ear with hearing loss, wearers use a device with a microphone, which sends signals to a device worn in the “good” ear, mixing sounds naturally for the wearer. This provides wearers with access to 360-degree sound. For those who experience severe to profound hearing loss, Phonak offers the Naida, super-powered hearing aid.
